How is it arranged?
It’s easy – just open a current account with us, and you’ll get the card automatically. We will send it to you by mail, or you may pick it up at your branch (your PIN will be available through Internet Banking or ČSOB Smart).
Before you use it for the first time, activate your card at any of our ATMs (e.g. through cash withdrawal) or your first payment at a store. However, your card must be inserted into a terminal and the PIN entered.
If you already have an account with us and wish to order a new card, please visit our bank branch or any Czech Post office.
Why to wait! After a few minutes after opening the account, you will find your new card in the ČSOB Smart application. In the Settings tab under specific card you will find the card number, validity, and the security code under the item "Show card number".

How to activate online card payments?
Before your very first online card payment, you must enable online payments made with your card. It’s easy – you can do it through your online banking, via the info line +420 495 300 300 or at your nearest bank branch or Czech Post Office.

ePIN or Smart Key - confirm payments online securely
Online card payments are no longer to be confirmed with mere SMS code. To comply with the new European directive, you can only pay online with confirmation in the Smart Key app. If you want to stick with established SMS codes, you also need a special ePIN.
What is 3D Secure and how does it work?
It is the most secure online payment method. Your payment is encrypted (you will see a little green lock in the address line), and every payment is confirmed through an push notification prompt sent to ČSOB Smart Key app, or confirmed via SMS code sent to your mobile phone. SMS code must be accompanied with a special ePIN code.
It is important for the online store to support this service – this is easy to recognize through a logo: „Mastercard SecureCode“ and „Verified by Visa“. The newest protection technology bears the name “Mastercard Identity Check“ (in short “ID Check“) and “Visa Secure”.
Some stores abroad do not use 3D Secure – so you can pay even without any further confirmation. However, in these cases, we cannot guarantee maximum payment security, though we will support you in case of any complaint.

In the ČSOB Smart app you can now find all the benefits of your Mastercard in one place. For example, discounts at merchants, cheaper entrance to airport lounges or phone access to doctors, or the option to buy tickets for sold-out Sparta football matches.
- In the ČSOB Smart app, click on Cards in the bottom menu.
- Under each Mastercard you will find a button "Mastercard Benefits"
- After giving your consent once, you will see the offers of the specific card in the sections Promotions and discounts, Card benefits, Experiences (all available in Czech, only)
- And if you have more than one type of Mastercard, all the better: the benefits are different for each type of card, so be surprised. We update some offers every month.
Mobile and smart watch payments
You can digitize your debit or credit card into your mobile phone and pay in-store, e-shop or in-app with Apple Pay, Google Pay, Garmin Pay and Xiaomi Pay. You can also use smart watches Apple Watch or Garmin, or Xiaomi Smart band for safe and fast payment. Don't have your card at hand? In our ČSOB Smart, you will find all the card data to transcribe them into mobile payment applications or on the e-shop.
Card with respect for nature
We were the first Czech bank to issue a payment card made from industrial and domestic plastic waste. The eco-card gives a second life to 3.2 g of plastic waste, reducing the carbon footprint by 7 g of CO2.

Do you already have a card from us? We recommend choosing a second card association for your Image card (e.g. if you have a Mastercard, choose Visa).
Do not upload images downloaded from the Internet or showing brands, movies, actors or public figures; photos with religious or controversial content. You can also choose from several preset designs.
