What is Kate Coin and how does it work?

Kate Coin is our new rewards program available exclusively in ČSOB Smart. After logging in, you can access your so-called Kate Coin wallet via the Kate Coin tile on the main page. There, you will see an overview of all your Kate Coins (abbreviated as KTC), their validity, and information on how to get and use them. Just to be clear, Kate Coin is neither a cryptocurrency nor electronic money according to the legal definition.

What are Kate Coins?

Kate Coins are digital “coins” (abbreviated as KTC) that we reward you with for using our services, such as using the Smart app, interacting with the virtual assistant Kate, or signing up for and using selected products.

What are the conditions for using Kate Coin?

Kate Coin is only available in the ČSOB Smart app and can be used by all clients (individuals) over the age of 18 who have a ČSOB Identity and have given us consent to process their personal data for marketing purposes. If you have previously withdrawn this consent but would like to use Kate Coins, simply tap on the Kate Coin tile in the Smart app. You will then be given the option to grant consent again.

What is the value of Kate Coin and how long is it valid?

The value of 1 KTC corresponds to 1 CZK. Each Kate Coin is valid for 12 months from the date of acquisition. You can easily check the expiration dates by clicking on the Kate Coin tile in the Smart app under the Expiry tab.

I am a client of your bank but do not have a current account.

You do not need a current account to collect Kate Coins. However, rewards from Kate Coins are only sent to a current account with us. If you use the ČSOB Smart app without an account and want to use the rewards, you can open an account directly in the app.

I have multiple current accounts. To which one will my reward be credited?

The reward will be credited to your main current account. If you are unsure which one that is, you can easily check it by tapping the Settings tab under the Kate Coin tile in the Smart app.

Where can I see how many Kate Coins I have?

You can see your current Kate Coin balance after logging into ČSOB Smart on the Kate Coin tile. By tapping on the tile, you can see their validity and usage options. The balance update might take some time to reflect.

How soon will my Kate Coins be credited?

Kate Coins will be credited immediately after meeting the conditions for their acquisition.

For what and how can I get Kate Coins?

You can earn Kate Coins for various activities, such as using our services, including the ČSOB Smart app, communicating with the virtual assistant Kate, or signing up for and using selected products. The currently valid list of activities for earning Kate Coins can be found in the Kate Coin details in ČSOB Smart under the Get tab.

How can I use my Kate Coins?

The currently valid list of items you can use Kate Coins for can be found in the Kate Coin tile in ČSOB Smart under the Use tab. Each offer yet has its own conditions of use. Offers need to be activated before each use. The app will let you know in case you are not eligible to use an offer.

Are Kate Coins transferable? Can I gift or transfer them to someone else?

No, Kate Coins are not transferable and cannot be gifted or transferred.

Can I buy additional Kate Coins if I am short for a certain offer?

No, you cannot buy additional Kate Coins. You can get them through activities related to using our services.

Can rewards be automatically activated?

No, if you want to get a cash reward in CZK for Kate Coins, you must activate the reward each time before use. The reward will then be automatically credited to your current account.

I deactivated Kate Coin but want to reactivate it.

You can reactivate Kate Coin easily in ČSOB Smart under the E-shop > Rewards for you > Kate Coin tab.

What will happen to the World of Rewards program? Will I lose my existing points in the World of Rewards if I use Kate Coin?

World of Rewards and Kate Coin are two different programs. Even if you start using Kate Coin, your World of Rewards will not be affected, and you will continue to collect points for it.

How can I submit a complaint?

If you believe that you have been credited an incorrect number of Kate Coins, that you have not been credited with a reward on your current account, or if anything else makes you unhappy, please let us know at infoKTC@csob.cz.

To verify your request, please make sure that your e-mail contains the following details:

  • A screenshot of the offer screen where the problem occurred. Please remember to hide the balances, using the crossed-eye icon at the top right.
  • Your Smart app version – you will find it in Smart’s Menu → ČSOB Smart → About.
  • The version of your phone's operating systém
  • Date of attempt to use the offers.
